Many political leaders have become authors and written several books on wide themes. Narendra Modi is also one of them. Not only a focused orator with excellent skills to deliver the message intended to the target audience, but Modi is also an author and a poet skilled enough to share his views and opinions with the readers. I have got the opportunity to read his book ‘Jyotipunj’ recently. He wrote this book more than a decade ago. As the title describes, the book discusses the members of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and other successful leaders of BJP who have shown the light and guided Modi’s way to become a successful leader of modern India. The book is all about mother India and our duty towards her – from its growth to its safety. It is about the love which every Indian has in their hearts for mother India, however, some people don’t restrict this love to their heart and go beyond to serve the country in all possible way they could, without caring about their own life. Through this book, Modi has tried to express his gratitude to all those who have contributed in his political journey from becoming a member of RSS to Pracharak of the Sangh to CM of Gujarat State. Though the book is written as an autobiographical account of the author, this book might irritate those who are not interested in historical records of political importance.

Summary

Jyotipunj by Narendra Modi is a book that contains a political history of the Jan Sangh and Bharatiya Janta Party… semi or rather an autobiographical response to the political pursuits of a party that is nationalistic in attitude.
