Amnesty by Aravind Adiga leaves no ground for the readers to think or think critically. It is like forcefully thwarting a window of possible critical thinking and allowing the readers to stroll on only one side of the line that is available as an option to them. The novel, nevertheless, does take into consideration many important issues that are relevant, discussed and debated on a frequent basis in the modern world. Migration, migrants, illegal residents, issues related to all of these and so on… Adiga has touched several issues, discussed a few with certain aspects at the fore and cunningly kissed some very reluctantly. Darkness, as usual, is here. The novel is meant for the readers with expertise in literary patience and literally the patience to let the story unfold at a slow pace. Are you the one for this one? Think.
